Austwide Legal was established in 2016 and provides advice in relation to land access, tenure compliance, native title and heritage for mining and exploration companies in Western Australia

Wendy Treasure - Director | Lawyer

Wendy Treasure - Director | Lawyer


Wendy Treasure is a specialist resources lawyer with a background in native title law in Canada and Australia, and more recently established a mining law and policy education project in Ghana. She was admitted to practice in WA in 2002 and has an LLM in Mining Law and Policy.

Wendy worked for five years as a native title lawyer for two Aboriginal Land Councils, managed claims in the National Native Title Tribunal and negotiated agreements with government and mining companies.

Wendy’s experience includes drafting high-level agreements in the UK; developing mining law and policy training courses in West Africa and leading global mining law research projects for a variety of organisations. Since 2013, Wendy lectured and tutored at Murdoch Law School.

Evan Rogers - Lawyer

Evan Rogers - Lawyer


Evan is an experienced energy and resources lawyer, specialising in commercial, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters. He has an established track record of in-house experience with several major mining, oil and gas, and global services companies, both in Australia and Asia. He has provided sound advice on a wide variety of legal matters including, drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements, complex regulatory approvals and investigations, risk assessment and management, and regulatory compliance management systems.

He also has extensive experience in the conduct of internal investigations relating to anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, fraud, employment, and EHS issues.

Evan has a Bachelor or Business (Finance) from Edith Cowan University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from the Financial Services Institute of Australia, and a Juris Doctor (Hons) from Murdoch University. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2013.

Ruth Kooy - Law Clerk

Ruth Kooy - Law Clerk


Ruth completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Curtin University in 2019.

During her studies, Ruth gained experience in criminal law and commercial litigation, before discovering her interest in mining law and the energy and resources sector.

In 2019, Ruth undertook an internship as a Research Associate to the Perth Mining Warden dealing with matters before the Warden’s Court gaining valuable insight into the Court’s processes.
